I am Maggie, a recent college graduate with a fervor for international politics, sociology, and Spanish, driven to leave a meaningful imprint on the world. My diverse skill set encompasses journalism, consulting, linguistics, statistical analysis, and now, advanced coding in Python, Jinja, HTML, and ArcGIS Pro.

Over the past year, I embarked on a focused journey to enhance my technical skills. I committed myself to part-time work while self-learning programming, particularly Python. From building this portfolio website with HTML and CSS, to combining python scripting with ArcGIS insights (view my latest projects below), I have developed a whole new set of skills to utilize in my next job. My technical proficiency is complemented by my soft skills, including strong communication, collaborative teamwork, attention to detail, and problem-solving. Thoughtful decision-making, reliance on concrete facts, and my adept research skills are just a few qualities that set me apart. I'm constantly on the lookout for opportunities to improve, welcoming creativity and valuing feedback as key drivers of success.

With aspirations in diplomacy, I am actively seeking a government analyst position specializing in national security and international policy. My newest concrete skills, dedication to self-improvement, interdisciplinary excellence, adaptability, and ability to connect with others make me a well-rounded candidate, ready to excel in any undertaking.

Python and ArcGIS Insights Project

In my latest project, I created visualizations of Covid-19 trends across British Columbia, Canada, by scripting CHIME prediction models into the ArcGIS insights system. I then analyzed and displayed the predicted viral trends of Covid-19 in 2023.

SPSS Statistical Anaylsis Project

Using SPSS statistical analysis programming and 2018 GSS Survey Data, this research explores whether American citizens feel that women are suitable for roles in politics. These opinions were cross tested with different variables including viewpoints on the 2016 presidential election, and identifiers such as sex, race and degree.

Using focus groups, interviews, literary research and numerical data, this capstone research project explores how Black and African American women's hair played a role in shaping their experience with the world.

La Parte Política de Migración

This Spanish writing sample speaks on the politics around migration as a widespread and complicated topic globally. From the economic effects to societal expectations of migrants, this investigative essay uses multiple documentaries and external sources to analyze the political connotations behind such a large phenomenon.
